The Banana Lab was the brainchild of Detroit Entrepreneur Chris Ramos. Launched in late 2006 with a simple goal to specializes in urban vinyl toys from brands like Kidrobot, Super Rad and Wonderwall, TBL is bringing the urban art movement to the global masses.

Many claim that the urban vinyl toy craze began with Michael Lau's urban styled G.I. Joe figures that were brought to a Hong Kong toy show in 1997. Since then, more and more limited edition art toys have been created. The movement soon crossed the ocean into the United States via NYC and Los Angeles with the help of companies like Kidrobot.

Besides urban vinyl toys, the Banana Lab also carries limited edition apparel and custom skate decks influenced by urban culture and design.
